Mellon Summer Stipends (for continuing students)
The Mellon Summer Stipends were one-time awards of $6,000, designed to aid students with their research and writing. These funds were in addition to what the students were already receiving, so, in essence, they earned an extra summer of funding.
Selection criteria were based on quality of work, progress toward degree, and potential for having an impact on the study of religion in their respective disciplines.
