Andre P. Audette, a recipient of a Mellon summer stipend, is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science. Andre came to Notre Dame after graduating from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) with degrees in political science and Justice and Peace Studies. As a Ph.D. student, his research focuses largely on issues of social identity and its effect on political participation and mobilization. In particular, Andre's work often involves cases of religion and politics, and seeks to provide a clearer context under which individual religious beliefs and behaviors and/or congregational life influence political behavior. Additionally, Andre Audette is interested in identity as it relates to inequality, and he has conducted research on the social effects of state welfare policies. Aside from American Politics, he also experience in constitutional law and conflict resolution.
