Brandon Vaidyanathan, a member of the Sociology and Religion working group and a recipient of a Mellon summer stipend, is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology and a graduate research fellow at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Management. His research examines various aspects of the intersection of culture, religion, and economics, including volunteerism, philanthropy, and corporate life. His dissertation looks at how religious institutions both shape and are shaped by new forms of capitalism in rapidly globalizing cities.
